Sir ! Pardon me for inserting a morose piece of philosophization in the midst of an occasion of laughter. But how fragile and short-lived sexual love is ! People always love the opposite sex for their own selfish ends, but pretend their love is platonic or ethereal. Perhaps it was for nothing that our ancestors did not put Venus as the Lady of love, for the planet looks bright and beautiful from the Earth, but is very ugly in reality.

Dear Tadepally gaaru, Thanks a lot for your comment. But I beg to differ.
My thinking and opinions are influenced by some books on evolutionary psychology.
Attraction to opposite sex is a trick by the ’selfish genes’- but it is the genes which are selfish, not us. We have the choice and freedom to experience and maintain ‘love’ as platonic and ethereal. In fact, I have read that the harmones that brain releases during sex help form a permanent bond/love between the people.
There are always exceptions, of course. There are a lot of selfish people around (- and that too is explainable. The book, ‘How the mind works’ explains these matters beautifully.) But I can’t brand everybody as selfish.
I believe most of the people experience love genuinely, even if ‘love’ is a trick of the harmones and hence, the genes. But, we are not genes. Genes do their work. We do our business. We are capable of love and being unselfish. We do have choices and a sense of morality. We are morally responsible for exercising those choices. That is what makes us human.
Sorry for taking the discussion into a completely different direction.
